Hello Everyone. I didn’t know what to work on this afternoon so I sat down with the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set, some ink, a few aqua painters and some watercolour paper and came up with this. I love hand painting images like this so painting this sunflower was a joy. I hope you like it. I'm not sure what to do with it now. Any suggestions, please leave me a comment.
This is how it started out. I stamped the sunflower with Versamark Ink and then heat embossed it using Gold Embossing Powder.
I used Bumble Bee Stampin' Ink, Cinnamon Cider Stampin' Ink, Pumpkin Pie Stampin Ink and an Aqua Painter. The petals might seem like they are coloured with a few different types of golds and yellows but in fact, it is just the difference of intensity due to the amount of water mixed with the ink.
I used a wet on wet technique to create the background which just means a wet aqua painter on damp paper. The water keeps all boundaries soft and subtle. I used Balmy Blue and Pacific Point Stampin' Ink.
The sunflower is about 3x3 inches. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts. For the time being, I decided to place a quote from Helen Keller on it about sunflowers. Now it looks like this. |
I hope you enjoy this as much as I did creating it. I wonder what this sunflower will grow into.
